Born in Columbus, Brian Hinton is a lifelong Mississippian. Initially playing baseball at East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, he completed his undergraduate degree from Mississippi University for Women in 1995, having majored in Psychology, with a secondary emphasis in Political Science. In 1998, Brian received his Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi and was admitted to the Mississippi Bar and was admitted to practice law in all of the state and federal courts of Mississippi. In the same year, Brian returned home to Columbus to start his own general law practice, but in 2000, he relocated to the greater Jackson area and began representing clients in a wide range of matters that are covered by insurance coverages.
Brian is a Member of Anderson Crawley & Burke, pllc, where his practice primarily focuses on construction and commercial litigation. While Brian provides his clients with a wealth of trial and arbitration experience in construction defect and construction site liability claims, his career spans over 20 years practicing in MS, where he has litigated general business disputes, insurance coverage and bad faith claims, commercial trucking accidents, products liability, premises liability, automobile accidents, as well as uninsured motorists claims. Brian is also a trained and practicing mediator and is included in the MS Bar Association’s Mediator’s Directory.
Brian belongs to both the Defense Research Institute (DRI) as well as the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM). He is active on numerous committees with CLM, including, Construction Defect and Construction Site Accidents Committee and the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee. Through his Committee work, Brian routinely provides educational training to claims industry professionals. ACB is the member firm from Mississippi for Your House Counsel®, and Brian is the National Chair of the Construction Liability Practice Group for Your House Counsel®. In 2018, Brian was named by the Mississippi Business Journal as one of the “Top Ten” of Mississippi’s Leading Attorneys at the MBJ’s annual Leadership in Law awards.
Brian is married to Kimberly Brown Hinton and they live in Brandon with their son Cooper and daughter Cadey. They attend Pinelake Baptist Church.
